Kevin Bacon (City on a Hill) and Glenn Howerton (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) have been cast in Sirens, a dark comedy miniseries for Netflix starring Julianne Moore, Meghann Fahy and Milly Alcock.
Sirens is created by Molly Smith Metzler (The Maid) based on her play Elemeno Pee and executive produced by Lucky Chap. Sirens revolves around three women: Devon, Simone and Michaela. Devon (Faye) discovers that his sister Simone (Alcock) is engaged in a downright creepy relationship with her new boss, the mysterious socialite Michaela Kell (Moore). Michaela’s cult-like life of luxury is like a drug for Simone, and Devon decides it’s time for an intervention. Told over the course of an explosive weekend at the Kell family’s luxurious seaside mansion, Sirens comes across as a sharp, sexy and darkly humorous examination of women, power and class.
Bacon plays Michaela’s husband, Peter Kell, who comes from a wealthy family and commands the highest status in any room he walks into. He’s an avid outdoorsman who occasionally smokes a joint.
Howerton plays Ethan Corbin II, the Kells’ best friend and next-door neighbor, a lifelong bachelor who is a yacht club regular and is quickly depleting his trust fund.
Writer and showrunner Metzler executive produces Quiet Coyote as part of his deal with Netflix. Dani Gorin, Tom Ackerley and Margot Robbie are executive producers on LuckyChap. Nicole Kassell serves as executive producer and director.
Howerton continues to star in FX’s It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, now in its 17th season. He most recently starred in the indie film Blackberry, for which he was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award and a Gotham Award for Best Supporting Actor. Howerton is repped by WME, 3 Arts Entertainment and Sloane, Offer, Weber & Dern.
Bacon stars in two hot summer movies hitting theaters this week, “MaXXXine” and “Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F,” and recently appeared in the Netflix hit “Leave the World Behind.” He also stars in the upcoming Prime Video series “The Bondsman.” Bacon is repped by WME, MGMT Entertainment and Johnson Shapiro Slewett & Kole.
