According to Android Authority, the Google Pixel 8a is anticipated to make its public debut in May, maybe during Google I/O, and will include several significant improvements.
An improvement to the display would be the first and maybe most user-facing. There are rumors that the Pixel 8a will come with a 6.1-inch FHD+ display running at 120Hz. Compared to the Pixel 7a, that is an increase of 90Hz. When displaying HDR material, the display would also seem to be brighter, with a higher peak brightness of 1,400 nits.
In addition, this appears to be Google’s first Pixel that supports display output right out of the box. With the most recent Android 14 beta release, the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro gained this capability.
Tensor G3, an expected improvement, would be the other significant hardware modification. In order to save money, Google would likely use a slightly modified version of the Tensor G3, which might not be quite as heat efficient but should otherwise be roughly comparable to the one found in Google’s flagship devices. This appears to be the same approach as Pixel 7a.
It appears that the cameras have not modified, with an ultrawide camera acting as backup to the primary shooter’s 64MP sensor. This information appears to come from “a source inside Google,” along with the other elements listed above.
At last, the source notes that the Pixel 8a will be available for purchase in other global countries. Pixel 8a would include the Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia in addition to the current 21 nations. Based on electronic warranty information for the 8a, these additional nations have been included.
The Pixel 8a has already been teased a few times, and Google has officially announced that it will launch. As previously said, the device is probably going to be released around I/O 2024, which is scheduled for May 14.
