NBA reveals 2024 All-Star Game beneficiaries

The NBA today announced that, as part of the 2024 NBA All-Star Game, it will collaborate with two regional charities located in Indiana, Special Olympics Indiana and Boys & Girls Clubs of Indianapolis, in order to help promote and fund each organization. These are the specifics:

  • Special Olympics Indiana will be represented by the Eastern Conference All-Stars.
  • For the benefit of the Indianapolis Boys & Girls Clubs, the Western Conference All-Stars will play.
  • Starting with $100,000 each, each organization will receive an additional $240,000 to be given to the winning team’s charity at the All-Star Game.
  • Additionally, $1,900 will be contributed through the NBA Cares State Farm Assist Tracker program for each on-court assist during the All-Star Game. The money will be divided equally between the two charities.

Indiana’s Special Olympics

For those with intellectual disabilities, Special Olympics Indiana offers year-round sports training and tournaments. The organization promotes diversity, self-determination, and a feeling of achievement for every player, in addition to the excitement of athletics. Over six million subjects, unified sports partners, one million coaches, and one million volunteers across more than 200 authorized programs enable Special Olympics to provide more than 30 Olympic-style sports, as well as more than 100,000 events and competitions annually across the globe.

Indianapolis Boys & Girls Clubs

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Indianapolis provide a supportive atmosphere that fosters youth development. Academic achievement, sports and recreation, the arts, education, health and wellness, and career development are their key pillars. BGC Indy encourages and empowers all adolescents, especially those in need, to realize their full potential as responsible and caring citizens while working with over 6,000 at ten sites across Indiana.
