Aubrey Plaza to star in ‘The White Lotus’ Season 2 at HBO

Aubrey Plaza has been cast as the lead in HBO’s dark comedy series The White Lotus’ second season. Plaza, who previously appeared on Parks & Recreation and Legion, is the second confirmed cast member for the planned follow-up to Mike White’s breakthrough social satire limited series, joining Michael Imperioli.

Plaza will play Harper Spiller, a woman on vacation with her husband and his friends, in the series regular role. Season 2 of the hit dark comedy will, as previously stated, take place at a completely different White Lotus resort from the one featured in Season 1.

Visitors at the White Lotus, an upscale Hawaiian resort, were the focus of the six-part original series. The sequel, which will be written, filmed, and executive produced by White, will leave Hawaii for a new setting and follow a fresh group of tourists at another White Lotus hotel.

Plaza is best recognised for her role as a member of the ensemble cast on the NBC comedy “Parks and Recreation,” which she played for seven seasons. She recently signed on to star in the Hulu drama “Olga Dies Dreaming,” and she will also provide her voice to the animated series “Little Demon” on FX. Plaza has appeared in films such as “Ingrid Goes West,” “Black Bear,” and “The Happiest Season.” She’ll next be featured in Guy Ritchie’s “Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre” and “Emily the Criminal,” which will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in 2022.

MGMT, CAA, and Schreck Rose Dapello Adams Berlin & Dunham represent Plaza.

Mike White created “The White Lotus,” and he also serves as the show’s writer, director, and executive producer. Executive producers include David Bernad and Mark Karmine. When the show premiered in July, it received a lot of positive feedback, with Coolidge in particular receiving accolades for her portrayal of Tanya McQuoid, who is grieving.
