In early trading on November 21, shares of Tata Power Company saw a 1% increase to Rs 263.70, marking the company’s achievement of surpassing the 1.4 GW capacity of group captive projects in the previous seven months.
In the past seven months, the company’s subsidiary Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) has exceeded the 1.4-GW capacity of group captive projects.
According to the firm, this accomplishment is the outcome of Power Delivery Agreements (PDA) being signed with numerous sectors across all categories.
TPREL added that it has signed a number of notable group captive projects in the last six months, including partnerships with Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Mukand Limited (a company of the Bajaj Group), Supreme Petrochem Limited, Xpro India Limited, Neosym Industry Limited, Chalet Hotels Limited, Sanyo Special Steel Manufacturing India Pvt Ltd, ANAND Group, and Endurance Technologies Limited.
For Tata Power’s future 4.3GW solar cell and module manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu, TPREL is also planning to build a 41 MW captive solar plant.
TPREL’s total renewable capacity as of October 23 was 7,961 MW thanks to these group captive projects. This includes 3,755 MW of projects in various stages of construction and 4,206 MW of operating capacity, which is made up of 1,006 MW of wind and 3,200 MW of solar projects.
Tata Power reported a 9% increase in revenue to Rs 15,442 crore and an 8.8% increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 1,017 crore for the second quarter of FY24.
On September 8 and March 28, the share saw 52-week highs of Rs. 276.50 and 52-week lows of Rs. 182.45. With respect to the past 52 weeks, the stock is currently 4.63 percent below its peak and 44.53 percent above its low.
