At its annual Config conference in San Francisco, Figma introduced a wide range of new tools and features with a strong focus on AI-driven design innovation. One of the most notable announcements was Figma Sites, a platform that empowers users to transform their design ideas into live, functional websites directly within the Figma interface. This tool allows creators to design, build, and publish websites in one seamless flow, without having to switch to external platforms.
Figma Sites simplifies the web creation process by offering AI assistance, making it easy to build personal portfolios, event sites, and other live pages. It comes equipped with templates, pre-built interactive components, and a library of design elements. Deep integration with Figma’s existing design system ensures a smooth transition from design to deployment.
Also revealed was Figma Make, a new tool that converts plain text prompts into working code. This feature caters to users regardless of their coding experience, enabling them to add interactive behaviors to their projects. For example, someone can simply type instructions like “make this button animate” or “create a scroll interaction”, and Figma Make will generate the code. The tool is currently in beta and is part of Figma’s broader push to use AI to lower the barrier to design and development.
Figma also introduced Figma Draw, an enhancement for vector-based design within the Figma Design suite. It includes features like brushes, layers, and editing tools aimed at helping designers and illustrators produce polished digital artwork more easily and efficiently.
Figma Buzz, a collaborative platform created for team workings on brand assets, was finally introduced. Available in beta, it is designed to streamline the creation of consistent marketing materials and branding elements by reducing common workflow challenges.
These releases demonstrate Figma’s commitment to leveraging AI to streamline and expedite design and development creative operations.
