Xiaomi’s first Watch The Redmi Watch Move to be manufactured domestically in India, was formally unveiled on April 21. It is a new entry-level smartwatch. Tailored for users seeking a balance of affordability and performance, this smartwatch aims to solve key issues in the market such as unreliable health tracking, subpar display quality, and limited durability. Starting from May 1, 2025, it will be sold for a competitive price of Rs 1,999 on Mi.com, Flipkart, and Xiaomi’s physical stores. Pre-orders will open on April 24, 2025.
The Redmi Watch Move delivering a brightness level of up to 600 nits and a refresh rate ranging from 50 to 60 Hz it also features a 4.69 cm AMOLED curved display. It runs on Xiaomi’s in-house dual-core processor, designed to ensure a smooth and efficient user experience. While the Always-On Display feature keeps essential updates visible at all times, it lacks automatic brightness adjustment.
A TPU strap, which Xiaomi claims is anti-allergic, anti-bacterial, and comfortable enough for extended use, has replaced traditional silicone. Users can easily swap the strap using a quick-release mechanism, and Xiaomi plans to roll out additional color options soon. The four colors that the watch is available in at launch are Gold Rush, Silver Sprint, Blue Blaze, and Black Drift.
Operating on Xiaomi’s HyperOS, the wristwatch allows for smooth syncing with other Xiaomi devices including Redmi phones. Users can stay updated with synced notes, tasks, calendars, and weather. It also supports Hindi, with more local languages expected in the future.
Packed with over 140 workout modes including yoga, combat training, and even chess, it supports diverse activity tracking. With 98.5% accuracy, it also tracks the menstrual cycle, stress, heart rate, REM sleep, and SpO₂. Navigation is made easy with a rotating crown featuring haptic feedback.
With its IP68 certification, it provides water and dust protection. It may be used for up to 14 days, or five days if the Always-On Display is turned on, thanks to its 300 mAh battery. You can use it for up to two days after a 10-minute charge.
