Enjoying some ice cream is the best way to stay cool on a hot summer’s day. More especially, free ice cream.
On June 20, Kroger supermarkets will give free a total of 45,000 pints of Kroger-brand ice cream to celebrate “the official start of summer.” According to Kroger, this equates to 50 pints for each of the “900 minutes of sunlight” that day.
Vice President of the company’s store brands division Juan De Paoli remarked, “We are giving away ice cream for 15 hours straight; that is a whole lot of free ice cream. With more sunshine to enjoy a sweet treat.”
Customers must first visit FreeKrogerIceCream.com on June 20 to download a single-use, time-limited digital coupon good for any pint of Kroger brand ice cream (while supplies last) in order to receive their free pints. According to what a Kroger spokesman told Nexstar, the vouchers are good through June 27.
Nevertheless, the ten states—California, Colorado, Idaho, Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi, North Dakota, Nevada, Tennessee, and Virginia—where Kroger operates stores are exempt from redeeming the coupons. According to a spokesman, the discounts should work at every other Kroger Family of Stores location.
Currently, Kroger runs 2,750+ supermarkets throughout 35 states. To find local locations, customers can utilize the store locator on the Kroger website.
