Now that the NFL regular season is over, clubs should start getting ready for the following one. A number of teams have already chosen to move important personnel, including coordinators, head coaches, and general managers.
CBSSports.com has gathered all of the noteworthy reports in one location, saving you the trouble of searching through the disorganised reports on social media. We’ll include every applicant for coordinator, head coach, and general manager here, along with the locations where requests for interviews have been made.
Atlanta Falcons, head coach
Following three unsuccessful seasons, Arthur Smith was let go by the Falcons. Atlanta’s third straight 7-10 season under Smith—who was hired away from the Tennessee Titans prior to the 2021 campaign—was concluded by the team’s season-ending loss at New Orleans.
Carolina Panthers, head coach
Frank Reich was the head coach of the Carolina Panthers for less than a full season after taking over for Matt Rhule. After the team started the season with a 1-10 record, owner David Tepper decided to dissolve the union. Chris Tabor, the special teams coach, was given an interim position.
Las Vegas Raiders, head coach
Josh McDaniels’ second stint as head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders ended similarly to his first. During his two years in Las Vegas, McDaniels, who was a distinguished assistant to Bill Belichick, amassed a 9-16 record. On Halloween, Mark Davis, the owner, made the adjustment. In the interim, Antonio Pierce, a former linebacker with the Giants, was promoted.
Los Angeles Chargers, head coach
Former Chargers head coach Brandon Staley finished with a 24–25 record, going winless in the postseason during his more than two years in that role. Following the team’s 5-9 start, ownership decided to make a change on December 15. In the interim, Giff Smith, the assistant coach, was elevated.
Las Vegas Raiders, general manager
Before following Josh McDaniels to Las Vegas, general manager of the Las Vegas Raiders Dave Ziegler spent more than nine years in New England doing a number of responsibilities. After Ziegler spent two seasons with the Raiders, the team’s poor season was preordained when experienced quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo took over. In the interim, Champ Kelly is the general manager.
Los Angeles Chargers, general manager
They also let go of general manager Tom Telesco, who had held the position for almost 11 whole seasons, and head coach Brandon Staley. He stayed on with the company once it relocated from San Diego. Interim general manager JoJo Wooden was appointed.
