Let’s move on to “Anyone But You.” This summer’s sexy new romantic comedy starring Anne Hathaway and Nicholas Galitzine about a whirlwind age-gap romance is finally available to stream on Prime Video.
This film is based on the novel of the same name by Robin Lee and depicts the relationship between Solene (Hathaway) and Hayes (Galitzine). The two meet at Coachella when Solene takes her daughter to see Hayes’ band August Moon. This sparks an unexpected romance between the two, forcing Solene to juggle her own career, her obligations to her teenage daughter, and the 24-hour news surrounding their relationship.
Ms Lee said the 2017 novel was loosely based on One Direction and Harry Styles. However, movie officials avoided making direct comparisons.
“It’s funny because it’s not a comparison that I’ve ever made,” Galitzine told Variety’s Marc Malkin at the Vanity Fair Oscars Party. “But people really like to make it. Hayes Campbell, the man I’m playing, is a very different character and we want him to exist in his own world.”
The film premiered at SXSW, where the crowd went crazy over the chemistry between Hathaway and Galitzine, who both took the stage after the screening. “I can’t talk,” she said to the audience, in tears. “You have no idea the gift that you’ve just given us with your responsiveness, by being so connected to every little nuance in this. I will never forget this screening.
The Idea of You will be available on Prime Video starting May 2nd.
