The newest member of Taylor Sheridan’s cast for her upcoming Paramount+ series “Landman” is Jon Hamm.
Hamm will have a recurrent guest star role in the show. Along with cast members Ali Larter, Michelle Randolph, Jacob Lofland, Kayla Wallace, James Jordan, Mark Collie, Paulina Chávez, and Demi Moore, he joins Billy Bob Thornton, the already announced series lead.
The show is based on the “Boomtown” podcast. The world of oil rigs and the “proverbial boomtowns of West Texas” are the settings of the series, according to its official description. The book is further described as “an upstairs/downstairs story of wildcat billionaires and roughnecks fueling a boom so big, it’s reshaping our economy, our geopolitics, and our climate.”
“A titan of the Texas oil industry who has a long personal and professional relationship with Tommy Norris (Thornton)” is the personality that Hamm will play, Monty Miller.
Throughout the course of the seven-season AMC drama “Mad Men,” Hamm is most renowned for his Emmy-winning performance as Don Draper. Along with several other awards, Hamm received two Golden Globes for the show. In addition, Hamm is well-known for his partnerships with Tina Fey. The two women worked together on “30 Rock” and “The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt,” with Hamm winning three Emmys for the former and another nomination for the latter.
Most recently, Hamm starred in three seasons of Apple TV+’s “The Morning Show,” the third season of the FX anthology series “Fargo,” and the Amazon series “Good Omens.” Confess, Fletch, Top Gun: Maverick, Wild Mountain Thyme, Bridesmaids, and Baby Driver are just a few of the movies in which he appeared. He will appear in the Apple series “Your Friends and Neighbors” in addition to his present role as the lead in the animated Fox comedy “Grimsburg.”
Sloan Offer, Forward Entertainment, and CAA represent him.
