Apple is working on a 15-inch iPad to challenge with Amazon’s Echo Show 15

Mark Gurman of Bloomberg published his monthly Power On newsletter today, in which he examined how Apple lags behind its competitors in the smart speaker market. According to Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP), Apple controls only 5% of the smart speaker market. Amazon has a massive 69 percent share of the smart speaker market, followed by Google with 25 percent.

Apple does not have a smart display in its range, according to Gurman, and Apple should build a large-screen iPad, possibly with a 15-inch screen. Back in June, Mark mentioned that Apple has engineers and designers working on larger-screen iPads, which might be ready in a couple of years. In explaining why a large-screen iPad won’t be available for next year, Gurman also “confirms” that a new iPad Pro will be released the following year.

Let’s talk about a 15-inch iPad before they talk about a new iPad Pro for next year. Because of the App Store, Apple would have a significant advantage over Amazon. Apple, on the other hand, would be wise to allow such a gadget to run not only Mac software but also multitask like its laptops. Apple should be able to take advantage of its abilities to have such a device run on a fast and powerful chipset and feature a top-of-the-line camera in addition to having the App Store.

According to Gurman, Apple is considering making this larger-screened iPad thicker in order to accommodate more powerful speakers. The cameras could also include a landscape-first orientation, a back-facing power socket, and wall mount support.

A 15-inch iPad may be propped up on a desk in the living room or carried outside the house as a tablet. While Apple may be able to manufacture this, the cost of such a device may be prohibitive. A smart display also necessitates the use of a capable digital assistant, such as Alexa or Google Assistant. Siri isn’t believed to be on par with those two digital assistants.

As people previously stated, Gurman believes that Apple will release a redesigned iPad Pro next year, with mini-LED displays, support for the Mag-Safe magnetic wireless charging platform, and the ability to share battery life using reverse wireless charging capabilities on both the 11-inch and 12.9-inch models.
