Alabama’s spring game will happen April 17, the school reported Friday.
It will be the first spring game held since 2019. A year ago’s event, and all of spring practice, was canceled in light of the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic last March.
The current year’s game is required to have a decreased limit like games during the 2020 season.
“It’s not done yet, but we’re probably gonna end up having to ticket the event because we will have to limit capacity somewhere probably in the 20-25 percent range,” athletics director Greg Byrne said during a school-produced interview Friday. “We haven’t finalized that yet, working through those details, but we are gonna have it, which we didn’t have last year, so that’s another good step for us.”
The spring game will be the culmination of spring football rehearses that are required to start one month from now.
