‘Young Sheldon’ sequel will officially air on CBS

CBS has officially ordered a spin-off of Young Sheldon, which follows Sheldon’s older brother Georgie (Montana Jordan) and his fiancée Mandy (Emily Osment) as they raise a young family in Texas. Young Sheldon executive producers Chuck Lorre, Stephen Molaro and Steve Holland will continue in their roles on the new series, which will be part of CBS’ 2024-2025 schedule. Warner Bros. Produced by TV, where Lorre has lived for many years.

The addition of the spinoff, which will be a multi-camera show unlike the single-camera “Young Sheldon,” means Lorre will be in charge of the series for CBS for 22 consecutive years until the debut of “Two and a Half.” become. The history of “Men” dates back to 2003. Another of his current CBS comedies, Young Sheldon and Lorre, are both in their final seasons.

Another Big Bang Theory spinoff is being developed by Lorre and Warner Bros. TV for Max, the streaming service for the original series. That project’s specifics are being kept under wraps.

The Young Sheldon spinoff is CBS’ third straight-to-series pickup for the 2024–2025 season, following the Sherlock Holmes–adjacent medical drama Watson, starring Morris Chestnut, and NCIS: Origins, a prequel that follows a younger version of Mark Harmon’s character. In addition, the network will host the multicamera comedy Poppa’s House, which received series orders in the spring of 2023 but was postponed due to labor strikes the previous year, and the Kathy Bates-led Matlock remake.
