These are the top five Christmas films in Florida

The number one movie wasn’t even supposed to be a Christmas film, but it’s currently the most well-known in the country.

Sometimes in Florida, Die Hard isn’t a Christmas film.

This is based on the fact that it was conspicuously absent from a list of Floridians’ Top 5 favourite Christmas movies, which was put together by the gambling website CSGOLuck. To identify which Sunshine State favourites were, CSGOLuck utilised Google Keyword Planner to analyse the volume of searches for more than 180 Christmas movies.

To determine favourites, the titles of each movie were combined with phrases like “buy,” “bluray,” “Netflix,” and “watch online.”

The 1946 classic “It’s a Wonderful Life,” starring James Stewart and Donna Reed, is ranked highest on the list. It centres on Stewart’s character, businessman George Bailey, who is thinking about taking his own life on Christmas Eve because he believes that the world would be a better place without him after a string of bad financial incidents.

However, the storyline changes, as it does in all feel-good films, when he is shown the good he has done for his community via the eyes of a guardian angel who shows what life would have been like without him.

According to analysis, the famous movie—which many contend is more of a pro-capitalism picture than a Christmas movie—saw more than 11,000 monthly Google searches.

The Holiday, a 2006 romantic comedy starring Kate Winslet, Jude Law, Cameron Diaz, and Jack Black, comes in at number two. The leads, who are both unlucky in love, exchange homes for the holidays in an attempt to get away from their problematic relationships. The data revealed that it received over 9,414 Google searches per month.

Third place went to Will Ferrell’s iconic 2003 movie Elf, which received an average of around 7,200 monthly searches. Ferrell portrays Buddy in the film, a human who was reared as an elf in Santa’s workshop. But in the end, he leaves the North Pole to reunite with his biological father, leaving behind a comic cast of men who, at heart, are still boys and love everything with maple syrup.

The same year’s publication, Bad Santa, is on the other end of the wholesome spectrum with a markedly different tone. Billy Bob Thornton plays the tormented “bad Santa” in the movie, which chronicles the man’s life as a thief and alcoholic. On average, there were almost 6,600 Google searches every month.

The 2019 version of Little Women, with an average of almost 6,000 monthly searches, completes the Top 5. Set between two Christmases in 1860s young America, the critically acclaimed period drama tells the coming-of-age story of four sisters.

With its worldwide appeal for the Christmas spirit, It’s a Wonderful Life appears to transcend location. Only California preferred a different movie, The Holiday, while it ranked first in the majority of states. It’s a Wonderful Life, however, came in at number two even there.
