iPhones are now receiving WhatsApp’s picture-in-picture mode for video calls

There is another update that you should keep an eye out for if you use WhatsApp on iOS: Meta, a developer, has started adding picture-in-picture mode to video calls so that you can still see who you are talking to while using other apps on your iPhone.

The update, which is available through 9to5Mac and includes version 23.3.77 from the App Store, is straightforward. At the point when you’re on a video call inside WhatsApp, essentially limit the application, and you’ll get a relentless video thumbnail on screen that you can haul around on a case by case basis.

Last year, WhatsApp made the announcement that the feature was coming, and it appears that beta testing has gone well enough for the picture-in-picture mode to be made available to everyone. Everyone with an iPhone, that is; no word yet on whether or not the same feature will be available on Android.

Other enhancements include the capability to add captions to documents, support for names and descriptions for longer group chats, and personalized avatars that can be used as stickers.

Since very few apps receive updates that are as numerous and frequent as they are for WhatsApp, it stands to reason that the app that keeps on updating Meta is going to want to keep millions of people coming back to the app. This, of course, is a part of the reason why it keeps its software developers so busy.

They typically do not have to wait very long before another update for WhatsApp is released, whether it be improvements to the number of photos and videos that can be posted to a chat or the ability to send messages even when the internet is down.

Most of the time, these are updates that are not only useful but also well thought out. The most recent one is a good example of this: The user experience is unquestionably enhanced by the capability to remain on a video call while working in other applications.

Also, don’t overlook the sheer number of WhatsApp-branded apps. There are native applications available for Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS, as well as a web-based version. Now all we need is a version for the iPad.
