GeForce Now is about to begin broadcasting PC games to LG TVs

LG first announced in January that Nvidia’s GeForce Now cloud gaming service would be coming to some of its TVs, and now it’s here – albeit in beta form. According to a press statement, the beta will be available this week for “select 2021 LG 4K OLED, QNED Mini LED, and NanoCell TV models in 80 markets.”

This new webOS app will make it easier to use GeForce Now on a larger screen by allowing you to play PC games you own on other devices through the cloud.

However, games will be limited to 60 frames per second and 1080p resolution via the webOS app; you won’t be able to play GeForce Now games in 4K. (At the moment, that capability is only available on Nvidia’s Shield TV set-top box.)

Nvidia informs that every GeForce Now tier is supported, including the new tier that allows you to play games on its dedicated RTX 3080 pods.

According to the business, every gamepad-compatible game works as well. There are more than 35 free-to-play games available on GeForce Now if you don’t own any PC games but still want to give the service a try.

Nvidia claims it will continue to develop the current app by releasing updates in collaboration with LG until 2022.
