The iconic British rock group formed in the 1960s is receiving fresh attention thanks to the release of a new original album by The Rolling Stones on Friday.

The Rolling Stones have given the album the name “Hackney Diamonds,” and it will have a total of 12 songs. It will have been almost two decades since their previous studio album when it is released, according to a recent article on Fox News Digital.

“Angry” and “Sweet Sounds of Heaven” are two singles that were released before “Hackney Diamonds.” Stevie Wonder and Lady Gaga both contributed to the latter song.

The Rolling Stones were ranked No. 7 on Forbes’ most recent list of celebrities’ earnings in February. According to the report, they made $98 million last year.

In 2021, the band earned $50.9 million, according to Billboard. The source stated that this sum was made up of $44.5 million in tour box office receipts, $2 million in sales royalties, $3.1 million in streaming royalties, and $1.2 million in publication royalties.

The Recording Industry Association of America said that The Rolling Stones have sold 66.5 million certified record units in the United States.

Connection to the London School of Economics

Mick Jagger, the band’s frontman, studied at the London School of Economics in the 1960s. According to the institution, he had taken classes in accounting and finance before dropping out.

Highly-successful touring

The band has generated tour box office receipts totaling close to $2.17 billion over a 40-year period tracked by Pollstar, the music business newspaper revealed in July of last year. In that time, it was reported that 22.1 million Rolling Stones tickets were purchased.

Music catalog – to sell or not?

The entire discographies of several musicians, including Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Nicks, and Katy Perry, have recently been purchased for enormous sums of money.

According to Jagger, The Rolling Stones do not currently intend to offer their compositions from 1971 and later for sale.

According to reports, he claimed that “the children don’t need $500 million to live well.” The youngest of the singer’s eight offspring, who total eight, is six years old.
