Facebook wants to launch itself as an App Store in Europe

Meta wants to make Facebook an alternative Android App Store as soon as possible after the EU’s Digital Markets Act is passed.

From right off the bat in 2024, Europe’s Computerized Markets Act will require Macintosh and research to permit the utilization of options in contrast to their Application Stores. Meta has stated that it intends to expand its Facebook ads service in order to become such an alternative.

According to report, Meta will test this kind of promotion in the not so distant future, beginning with a little gathering of Android application designers. The arrangement is for advertisements to permit Facebook clients to download applications straightforwardly inside the virtual entertainment stage, instead of just connecting out to the Google Play Store.

“We’ve always been interested in helping developers distribute their apps, and new options would add more competition in this space,” Meta spokesperson Tom Channick told the publication. “Developers deserve more ways to easily get their apps to the people that want them.”

According to reports, Meta intends to use this strategy to increase ad sales and will not, at least initially, take a cut of developers’ in-app revenues.

Meta’s proposition follows Microsoft’s prior declaration that it plans to offer its own Application Store for both Android and iOS.
