Disney and Pixar game ‘Disney Melee Mania’ is coming to Apple Arcade in December

In the Disney and Pixar universes, who are the GOATs? In “Disney Melee Mania,” coming only to gaming subscription service Apple Arcade, you’ll be able to throw fan-favorite Disney and Pixar characters against each other.

In the future game, each player selects an iconic Disney or Pixar hero to combat in three-on-three battles, with the teams competing for the title of Disney champions.

Players in “Disney Melee Mania” can choose from 12 champions from Disney and Pixar classics, with additional characters being added on a regular basis. Wreck-It Ralph, Elsa from “Frozen,” Mickey Mouse from “Sorcerer’s Apprentice,” Moana, Buzz Lightyear from “Toy Story,” Frozone from “The Incredibles,” and Bing Bong from “Inside Out” are among the first dozen characters in the game. Each character will have their own unique action-ready design, along with their own set of moves and cosmetics that can be unlocked.

To win in “Disney Melee Mania,” players compete in five-minute bouts in which they must score the most points or defeat the opposing side as many times as possible. With different modes and challenges to test their skills, the multiplayer bouts will put each character’s distinct attributes to the test in close-combat competition. Players can also win in-game goodies by participating in events. Mighty Bear Games, a Singapore-based game studio, created “Disney Melee Mania.”

“Lego Star Wars: Castaways” (debuting Nov. 19) is another title coming to Apple Arcade. It’s billed as the first social, action-adventure Lego Star Wars game. “NBA 2K22 Arcade Edition,” “Sneaky Sasquatch,” “Mini Motorways,” “The Oregon Trail,” “Sonic Racing,” “Fantasian,” “Solitaire by MobilityWare,” “Tiny Wings,” and “Crossy Road Castle” are among the more than 200 premium games available on Apple Arcade.

Apple Arcade is a monthly subscription service that provides unlimited access to game titles without commercials or in-app purchases for $4.99 (US). Customers who purchase a new Apple device are entitled to three months of free Apple Arcade.
