AMD offers a noise suppression tool to rival with RTX Broadcast from Nvidia

The Noise Suppression feature, which AMD accidently released last week, is now formally available as part of their Adrenalin software. The most recent Adrenalin Edition 22.7.1 update adds AMD Noise Suppression, which employs a real-time deep learning technology to lessen background audio noise.

When you’re on a call, you may filter unpleasant background noise from your own microphone or even from someone else’s device using AMD Noise Suppression, which functions very similarly to RTX Broadcast. You don’t need to download an additional programme to use AMD’s Noise Suppression feature as Nvidia does to use RTX Broadcast because AMD has built it right into the Adrenalin interface.

AMD Noise Suppression may be turned on in the audio and video area of the Adrenalin software, and it works with Ryzen 5000 series CPUs or newer or Radeon RX 6000 series GPUs.

A couple of years ago, Nvidia stunned us with RTX Voice (now RTX Broadcast), and since then, Discord, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet have all included background noise suppression. The fact that so many different programmes support it is excellent, but the implementations differ. RTX Broadcast and AMD Noise Suppression solve this problem by creating a virtual microphone that you can utilise in any app.

More OpenGL optimizations are included in AMD’s most recent drivers in addition to background noise reduction. According to AMD, Minecraft will perform up to 85% faster than it did with the previous driver. Valorant, Resident Evil Village, and Elden Ring have also gotten Radeon Boost with Variable Rate Shading. To increase image quality and performance, this will simply use various shading rates in different regions of an image.

Borderless fullscreen support has been added to AMD’s Radeon Super Resolution upscaling functionality, which is now available on discrete Radeon RX 5000 and RX 6000 series GPUs found in laptops. Where AMD’s superior FidelityFX Super Resolution hasn’t been implemented, this driver-based approach will upscale and enhance any game’s performance.
