Amazon Renews “Fallout” for a Second Season

Fallout is not being stored in the vaults by Amazon.

The show from Quilter Films and executive producers Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy has been renewed for a second season on Prime Video, the streamer announced Thursday.

According to Amazon, the series achieved great ratings for the first time, becoming one of the three most-watched titles in the service’s history and the most-watched title worldwide since The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power. It was a season that was watched.

“Praise be to our insanely brilliant showrunners, Geneva [Robertson-Dworet] and Graham [Wagner], to our kick-ass cast, to Todd and James and all the legends at Bethesda, and to Jen, Vernon and the amazing team at Amazon for their incredible support of this show,” Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy of Kilter Films said said in a joint statement. “We can’t wait to blow up the world all over again.”

The showrunners added: “Holy sh*t. Thank you to Jonah, Kilter, Bethesda and Amazon for having the courage to make a show that gravely tackles all of society’s most serious problems these days — cannibalism, incest, jello cake. More to come!”  

Based on the video game series by Bethesda Game Studios, Fallout is a story of the haves and have-nots in a world where there is little left to have. 200 years after the apocalypse, the kind-hearted residents of a luxurious nuclear shelter are forced to return to the irradiated hellscape their ancestors left behind, creating an incredibly complex, delightfully bizarre, and extremely violent They are shocked to discover that there is a whole universe waiting for them.

This series stars Ella Purnell as Lucy. Lucy is an optimistic Vault Dweller with an American can-do spirit. Her peaceful and idealistic nature is tested when she is forced onto Earth to save her father. Aaron Moten plays Maximus, a young soldier who rises to become a squire of a militaristic faction called the Brotherhood of Steel. He will do anything to further the Brotherhood’s goal of bringing law and order to the wasteland.

Walton Goggins is a morally ambiguous bounty hunter ghoul responsible for 200 years of history in a post-nuclear world. These different factions clash in their pursuit of an artifact created by a mysterious researcher that could fundamentally change the power relations of this world.

“It’s been one of the most spectacular projects we’ve ever been a part of,” said Todd Howard, executive producer at Bethesda Game Studios. “Jonah and team did such an incredible job, and we’re overjoyed not just by the reaction to the show but that we get to work with these amazing people even more.”

This Series The cast also includes Kyle MacLachlan, Moises Arias, Sarita Chaudhry, Michael Emerson, Leslie Uggams, Frances Turner, Dave Register, Zach Cherry, Johnny Pemberton, and Rodrigo. Luzzi, Annabelle O’Hagan, Zelia Mendez-Jones.

Additionally serving as executive producers for Bethesda Softworks and Bethesda Game Studios are Athena Wickham of Kilter Films and James Altman. Production partners Bethesda Softworks and Bethesda Game Studios include Kilter Films and Amazon MGM Studios.
