Could Kyler Kasper’s journey conclude where many Hawkeye fans believed it would begin all along?
Kasper, a 6-foot-6, 212-pound redshirt junior receiver at Oregon, is reportedly going through the NCAA transfer portal. ESPN’s Max Olson was the first to report the news.
Kasper is a Williams Field High School graduate from Gilbert, Arizona. He signed with Oregon as a four-star recruit in the 2022 class. He chose Oregon over Iowa, Tennessee, and Arizona, among others. According to 247Sports, Kasper was the 150th player overall, the 25th wide receiver nationwide, and the third player in Arizona.
Kasper’s stay in Eugene, Oregon, was marked by numerous injuries. Foot injuries ended his 2024 and 2025 seasons prematurely. Kasper appeared in just four games in 2025 before his most recent foot issue required season-ending surgery.
Kasper played 23 games for Oregon, catching six catches for 77 yards.
Kevin, Kasper’s father, played wide receiver at Iowa from 1997 to 2000. In 2000, he was named second-team All-Big Ten and served as the team captain. The Denver Broncos selected Kasper in the sixth round of the 2001 NFL Draft.
Kasper has Iowa team records for receptions in a game (13 vs Ohio State on October 30, 1999) and receptions in a season (82 in 2000). Kasper is fourth all-time in Iowa career receptions (157) and sixth in career receiving yards (1,974).
