Virat Kohli’s 300th ODI – A Historic Milestone in Cricket

Virat Kohli, the talisman of Indian cricket, again etched his name in cricket history on Sunday as he played in his 300th One-Day International. A bit of history awaited Kohli when India faced New Zealand in their last ICC Champions Trophy Group A match. The hitter became the seventh Indian and the 18th player worldwide to reach the 300-ODI milestone. He also played his 200th ODI against the Kiwis. In addition to playing his 300th ODI, Kohli became the first player to play in as many one-day internationals after having already played 100 T20Is and 100 Test matches. Out of all the cricket players who have played 300 One-Day Internationals (ODIs) for their countries, none of them have played 100 matches in the other two formats.

With an ODI of 299 before the New Zealand encounter began, Virat averaged a hit rate of 58.20 and 93.41. However, in the 300th ODI, Kohli was only able to add 11 runs to the total.
