TVS Motor continues to reinforce its presence in the scooter market, and its latest move highlights this ambition. After the Jupiter 110 made a bold entry last year with a refreshed design, the company is now preparing to revamp its Jupiter 125 model. A teaser for the upcoming scooter has just surfaced, hinting at what’s in store, though it keeps most details under wraps for now.
In the fiercely competitive 125cc scooter market, the teaser has generated enthusiasm, and the new TVS Jupiter 125 is expected to exacerbate the competition. As the second-highest selling scooter brand in India after Honda’s Activa, the Jupiter name carries strong brand value. TVS anticipates that its position in the 125cc market would be strengthened by this development. The teaser clip, shared on TVS’ official social media pages, simply states, “Style. Power. Performance. Coming soon!” It gives a brief look at the scooter’s design, revealing a single-piece seat and a matching rear grab rail. The debut colour seems to be a unique copper tone, showcased subtly in the visuals.
Perhaps drawing inspiration from the Jupiter 110’s design, the new Jupiter 125 features streamlined turn indicators, LED tail lamps, and crisp horizontal LED DRLs. It is anticipated that important elements from the existing model, including as the 12-inch wheels, the 220mm front petal disc brake, the front-positioned gasoline refill lid, and the roomy underseat storage, will either stay the same or be improved.
While the teaser doesn’t reveal much more, it’s clear TVS will maintain its “Zyada Ka Fayda” approach, focusing on generous features, comfort, and practicality. The new model is expected to include features like a TFT instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation, similar to the Jupiter 110.
Under the bodywork, the Jupiter 125 is likely to retain its 125cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine. This engine delivers 8 bhp and 10.5 Nm in its base form, while the iGO Assist-equipped version produces 8.44 bhp and 11.1 Nm, paired with a CVT gearbox. The updated model is expected to launch during the festive season and will compete with other 125cc scooters such as the Honda Activa 125, the upcoming Suzuki Access, Hero Destini 125, and Yamaha Fascino. Given the upgrades, a slightly higher price than the current range of ₹80,640 to ₹91,821 (ex-showroom, Delhi) is anticipated.
