The first poster for Mahavatar features Vicky Kaushal as Parashurama, "The Eternal Warrior of Dharma"

Vicky Kaushal is set to take on a transformative role in his newly announced film, Mahavatar. Directed by Amar Kaushik, this ambitious project will bring to life the legendary story of Chiranjeevi Parashurama, one of the most revered figures in Indian mythology. The film is slated for a grand release during Christmas 2026, and the anticipation surrounding it is palpable.

Kaushal, known for his dedication to his craft, appears completely transformed in the first-look posters of the film. Sporting long, flowing hair and a rugged beard, he exudes the fierce and spiritual essence of Parashurama. In his announcement on social media, Kaushal shared, “Dinesh Vijan presents the story of the timeless protector of dharma. Lord Vishnu’s sixth avatar, Parashurama, is a representation of strength, resilience, and devotion. His mission was to rid the Earth of the tyrannical rule of Karthaveerya Arjuna, a king whose arrogance had disrupted the balance of dharma. Armed with the Parashu, an axe gifted by Lord Shiva, Parashurama not only restored justice but also played a significant role in mythological history.
