The Model YL, a bigger, six-seater version of the Model Y, has been formally introduced by Tesla in China. It costs 339,000 Chinese Yuan, or roughly $47,000 USD.
Following several weeks of speculation, Tesla officially unveiled the updated Model Y on its Chinese online configurator:

The vehicle’s pricing and range were the two main unknowns at this time. We have the answers to those questions today.
The Model YL is priced at ¥339,000, which is almost $47,000 USD. It costs roughly $3,600 USD more in China than the Model Y Long Range AWD.
It has a 751 km (466 mi) range rating based on the CLTC driving cycle, which usually produces a greater range than the WLTP and EPA requirements.
For contrast, because of its larger battery pack, the larger model’s range is about the same as that of the smaller Model Y Long Range AWD.
The initial specifications and dimensions were made public last month, confirming a wheelbase that is 150mm (or around 6 inches) longer, a height that is roughly 24mm (1 inch) taller, and a length that is roughly 180mm (7 inches) longer.
A few other features, such as electronic armrests in the second-row seats and up to 2,539 liters of storage space, have now been confirmed by Tesla.
September deliveries are being guided by the automaker.
The Opinion of Electrek
The upgrade is reasonably priced given its fair price compared to Tesla’s current portfolio.
It is, however, far more costly than other 6-seater all-electric SUV options available in China, including the Onvo L90, which is roughly $8,000 less expensive.
