In a recent interview, Rashmika Mandanna opened up about the sacrifices she has made in her personal life to achieve the remarkable success she enjoys today. Reflecting on her journey with Femina, the actor revealed how her pursuit of a thriving career has come at the cost of precious family time, particularly with her younger sister, whom she deeply misses.
Rashmika’s career has been on an impressive rise ever since her debut in 2016 with the Kannada film Kirik Party. Since then, she has shared the screen with some of the biggest names in the industry, including Mahesh Babu and Allu Arjun in Telugu cinema, as well as Vijay and Karthi in Tamil films. Despite her achievements, Rashmika candidly shared the challenges of balancing her professional commitments with her personal life.
Speaking about the compromises she had to make, Rashmika said that prioritizing her career often meant sacrificing time with her loved ones. She explained, “I don’t get to spend enough time with my family, and that has been one of the most significant compromises of my journey. Growing up, my mom always said that you can’t give equal importance to both your personal and professional lives; you have to let one take precedence over the other. Unfortunately, my path has required me to put my work above everything else, leading to missed moments with my family.”
Even with the physical distance, Rashmika described her family as her ultimate source of strength, especially her younger sister. She admitted to missing the chance to watch her sister grow up, calling the decision incredibly difficult. “I’m missing my little sister a lot, and we message each other nearly daily. I try to call my mum, dad, and sister whenever I get the chance. She’s a smart and incredible girl, and I know she’ll grow up to be a wonderful woman. I’ll always be so proud of her,” she shared with warmth.
On the work front, Rashmika recently captivated audiences with her roles in Animal alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Pushpa 2: The Rule with Allu Arjun. Both performances earned widespread acclaim. She is now gearing up for a string of upcoming projects, including Telugu films The Girlfriend and Kubera, as well as Hindi films Chhaava, Sikandar, and Thama. Fans can look forward to seeing her in Chhaava, which is slated to release on February 14.
