“Back to the Beginning: Ozzy’s Final Bow,” a movie about Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath’s last performance, will be released in theaters in early 2026.
Mercury Studios is now working on the 100-minute concert film that will capture the band’s sold-out Birmingham stadium performance.
“Presented as a love letter to Ozzy and the pioneering sound of Black Sabbath, the theatrical release will be a distilled version of the epic all-day event held at Villa Park,” a press release reads. “Featuring thunderous performances of ‘War Pigs,’ ‘Iron Man,’ ‘Children of the Grave’ and a show-stopping ‘Paranoid,’ the film promises a deeply personal and electrifying farewell from the godfather of heavy metal with exclusive behind-the-scenes access and interviews from this iconic live performance.”
In addition to performances by Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Ronnie Wood, Steven Tyler of Aerosmith, Slayer, Pantera, Tool, Yungblud, Papa V/Ghost, and a drum-off featuring Tool’s Danney Carey, Blink-182’s Travis Barker, and the Red Hot Chili Pepper’s Chad Smith, the event was hosted by Jason Momoa.
There will also be a physical product available later in 2026 following the theatrical premiere of “Back to the Beginning” in early 2026. In the upcoming months, more information about the movie’s release will be revealed.
The “Back to the Beginning” concert was the first time in two decades that Black Sabbath’s founding lineup had played together. 42,000 people flocked to Birmingham’s Villa Park to watch the historic show, while another 3 million people paid to watch a livestream.
Osbourne, who is 76 years old and still battling Parkinson’s disease, sat sitting for the performance. He has had multiple spinal surgery. In a separate documentary from Paramount+ called “No Escape From Now,” which is scheduled to debut later this year, the iconic rock star will discuss his health concerns and last performance.
