Don Lemon to Launch Free Streaming Channel Across TV Platforms

Don Lemon is expanding his digital media presence into television with the launch of The Don Lemon Channel, a new free, ad-supported streaming network designed to reach audiences across both streaming services and linear television platforms.

The former CNN anchor, who has built a substantial following through YouTube and other digital platforms, is developing the channel in partnership with Swerve TV, a company specializing in the distribution and operation of free ad-supported television, or FAST, channels.

Lemon said the new network is intended to give audiences direct access to news, commentary and independent voices without the influence of a traditional corporate newsroom. The channel will build on the audience he has developed since moving much of his work to digital platforms.

The Don Lemon Channel is expected to feature two live programs each day, along with daily news updates, archival content and programming from other independent media personalities. Planned contributors include The Monique Pressley Show, Josh the Progressive, Michael Fanone and Dr. Frita.

Lemon’s move marks another step in his transition from traditional television broadcasting to creator-led media. After spending more than a decade as a prominent CNN anchor, he has increasingly focused on producing content independently and connecting with audiences directly through digital platforms.

Steve Shannon, CEO of Swerve TV, said Lemon has established an independent media network that reaches more than 10 million followers across various platforms. He added that the new channel will provide additional exposure for Lemon’s reporting and commentary while also featuring other independent news creators.

Swerve TV has previously partnered with other prominent digital personalities, including Scott Galloway, the New York University marketing professor and podcaster behind The Prof G Channel. The company also operates and distributes channels focused on combat sports and women’s sports.

With The Don Lemon Channel, Lemon is taking his digital-first media operation onto television, extending his reach to viewers who prefer to consume news and commentary through dedicated streaming and linear TV channels.
