Isn’t this teaser neat, just look at it?
Disney released an early glimpse of the upcoming movie at its D23 Expo. “The Little Mermaid” will return to theatres in 2019 with Halle Bailey playing a live-action Ariel for the first time.
It’s brief but oh-so-sweet and includes a brief glimpse of Ariel performing some powerful notes from “Part of Your World.”
The movie, which is being promoted as a remake of the 1989 Oscar-winning animated musical classic, is being directed by Rob Marshall, who also directed “Chicago” and “Mary Poppins Returns.”
In addition to Bailey, a singer who has also made an appearance on Freeform’s “grown-ish,” the movie also stars Daveed Diggs as Sebastian, Jacob Tremblay as Flounder, and Awkwafina as Scuttle.
On May 26, 2023, “Little Mermaid” is scheduled to open in theatres.
