Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga's 'Spirit' reunites Deepika Padukone and Prabhas

Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s ambitious cop-based action thriller Spirit, starring pan-India superstar Prabhas, is shaping up to be one of the most awaited and massive cinematic ventures in Indian film history. Produced by Bhushan Kumar in collaboration with Sandeep Reddy Vanga himself, the film is currently in the advanced stages of development, with the team actively finalizing some of the top acting and technical talents from across the country.

As per a recent exclusive update from Pinkvilla, Bollywood superstar Deepika Padukone has officially come on board to play a key role in Spirit. Interestingly, Deepika had previously declined the offer due to scheduling conflicts tied to her pregnancy. However, with a delay in the film’s production schedule, the team reached out to her again, and this time she agreed to be part of the project, marking an exciting addition to the already anticipated film.

Spirit, which was initially planned to begin shooting towards the end of the previous year, faced multiple delays. Producer Bhushan Kumar has now confirmed that the project is set to roll cameras in the upcoming months. With this collaboration, Deepika Padukone and Prabhas will share screen space once again, following their recent pairing in Kalki 2898 AD, generating further buzz among fans.

The casting process for Spirit is reportedly undergoing significant revisions. Although earlier rumors hinted at actors like Mrunal Thakur, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Saif Ali Khan being considered for pivotal roles, there have been no confirmations or updates regarding their involvement. As it stands, only Deepika has been officially finalized alongside Prabhas for the film.

Meanwhile, Deepika continues to be in high demand, with a packed lineup of major upcoming projects. In addition to Spirit, she is set to star in King opposite Shah Rukh Khan, with filming for that project beginning this month. She also has sequels like Kalki 2 and Pathaan 2 in the near future, both of which are scheduled to begin production in the coming year.
