Briar Cliff was certainly prepared for the NAIA National Tournament after their game was postponed to 6:00 central time on Monday due to a 6-hour rain delay.
The Chargers then scored three runs in the opening inning. before the Cliff took a 4-0 lead with to a solo effort from Nico Sall in the fifth.
However, Abraham Baldwin would not be defeated easily. With a three-run home run in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Stallions would come roaring back to tie the game at four.
Up until the top of the ninth inning, the score would remain tied at four. When runners were in position to score, Raenen Padilla fired a ball up the middle.
Two runs crossed the plate, therefore Padilla likely did not mind that the play would be formally deemed an error.
In order to win 8–4, Briar Cliff would add two more runs in the top of the ninth and hold on in the bottom half.
The Chargers now have a date set for Tuesday at 1:30 PM CST against Southeastern (Fla.), who are ranked
