CAT 2025 Registration Begins: Full Schedule, Eligibility & How to Apply

The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIM Kozhikode) has officially announced the notification for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2025, which is the leading entrance exam for Master of Business Administration (MBA).

The exam is scheduled for November 30, 2025 (Sunday) and will take place in three sessions. Candidates can download their admit cards from November 5 to November 30, 2025.

Individuals looking to pursue an MBA at IIMs and other top business schools nationwide can begin registering on August 1, 2025.

When to register?

The registration period for CAT 2025 starts on August 1, 2025, at 10 am and ends on September 13, 2025, at 5 pm. Prospective students can find more details and complete their applications on the official website iimcat.ac.in.

For candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PWD categories, the examination fee is set at Rs 1,300. For all other categories, the fee is Rs 2,600. Candidates are required to pay this fee only once, regardless of how many IIMs or other institutions they apply to. Once the fee is paid, it will not be refunded.

The test will be conducted in a computer-based format across approximately 170 cities in the country. During registration, candidates can choose up to five preferred cities, with the final allocation depending on availability.

Graduates who fulfill the minimum academic criteria outlined on the CAT website will qualify to take the examination. Nevertheless, each IIM has its own unique selection procedure, and simply meeting the eligibility requirements does not ensure that candidates will be shortlisted.

The CAT 2025 scores will be evaluated by all 21 IIMs for admission into their post-graduate and fellow/doctoral programs. Additionally, over 100 non-IIM institutions also accept these scores.

When will the results be released?

The results for CAT 2025 are anticipated to be published in the first week of January 2026. Candidates who are shortlisted will receive further instructions regarding interviews and selection from the respective IIMs to which they applied.
