With extensive renovations underway at Mannat, Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic residence in Mumbai’s Bandstand area, the superstar and his family-including wife Gauri Khan and their children Aryan, Suhana, and AbRam-have temporarily relocated. Since April this year, the family has been residing in an upscale rental property situated in the elite Pali Hill locality. This temporary move is expected to last for over two years, as Mannat undergoes a significant architectural transformation.
In a fresh development, it has been revealed that Gauri Khan has leased a separate residential flat nearby specifically for staff accommodation. Their current temporary house at the Puja Casa building is only 100 meters away from this 725-square-foot apartment in Pali Hill’s Pankaj Society. According to information from property data platform Zapkey, the flat has been rented from Sanjay Kishor Ramani for a monthly sum of ₹1.35 lakh. The lease agreement is valid for three years, includes a security deposit of ₹4.05 lakh, and carries a five percent annual rent escalation clause.
Earlier reports confirmed that Shah Rukh Khan had leased two luxurious duplex apartments in the Puja Casa complex for a yearly rental of ₹2.9 crore. This translates to a staggering ₹24 lakh per month for a four-floor living arrangement. Though the combined carpet area of the duplexes totals approximately 10,500 square feet, it remains considerably smaller than Mannat, which encompasses an expansive 27,000 square feet. It has been stated that Bollywood producer Vashu Bhagnani and his offspring, producer Deepshikha Deshmukh and actor Jackky Bhagnani, own the Puja Casa building.
Mannat, classified as a Grade 2-B heritage structure, is currently undergoing a renovation project that includes the addition of two extra floors, increasing its built-up area by 616.02 square meters. While SRK acquired the sea-facing bungalow in 2001, strict heritage preservation regulations had earlier prevented structural changes. In response, he had constructed a six-storey annex behind the original villa, which was also christened Mannat.
