The Apple Watch Ultra hasn’t seen a significant update since 2023, with the exception of a gorgeous new titanium black model. However, with the release of the Apple Watch Ultra 3 this fall, things will change. The upcoming Apple Watch Ultra 3 will have the following three features.
Detection of high blood pressure
One thing you can always count on from Apple Watch updates is new health features. Source says that Apple intends to launch high blood pressure detection this year:
The blood-pressure feature…is designed to work in a similar way to Apple’s sleep apnea detector. It won’t give users specific readings — such as diastolic or systolic levels — but it will inform them that they may be in a state of hypertension.
Source said that after years of development, the project appears to be ready for launch this year. Satellite messaging sans iPhone
Although the Apple Watch Ultra has gained a lot of fans with more casual demands, it has always been designed with adventurers and explorers in mind. Apple will introduce a new feature with the Ultra 3 that is specifically intended for people who like to live off the grid. The upcoming Apple Watch Ultra 3 will support satellite messaging.

The upcoming Apple Watch Ultra 3 will support satellite messaging.
The technology will let smartwatch users send off-the-grid text messages via Globalstar Inc.’s fleet of satellites when they don’t have a cellular or Wi-Fi connection.
This technology has been available to iPhone users for a few years, and a significant iOS 18 update made it much better. However, the Apple Watch has never had its own satellite connection. Users will find it easier than ever to put down their iPhones and fully enjoy the outdoors with the new Ultra 3.
5G cellular for the first time
Additionally, connectivity is the main focus of this third update. Apple intends to introduce 5G to the Ultra 3 this year, in contrast to earlier iterations of the Apple Watch Ultra that were only capable of 4G LTE connectivity.
According to reports, 5G Redcap, a less power-hungry variant of 5G, will be the update. Redcap will make sure your Watch doesn’t have a significant battery drain, but it can’t reach the same maximum speeds as your iPhone’s 5G.
Features of the Apple Watch Ultra 3: summary
In addition to the above features, the Apple Watch Ultra 3 is probably going to include a refreshed OLED display and a new chip, at the very least to match those of the Apple Watch Series 10. However, as the new model’s launch approaches, there haven’t been many leaks regarding it.
It appears that Apple is stepping up its efforts to position the Ultra 3 as the best Watch for explorers, at least for the time being.
