With the launch of iPadOS 26.1, Apple will provide the Vision Pro companion app to the iPad, allowing users to examine and control spatial content for the headset directly from their devices for the first time.
Apple’s press release announcing the new Vision Pro with the M5 chip included a mention of the expansion. iPhone users may now explore and download apps, games, and media experiences for the Vision Pro without wearing the headset thanks to the initial release of the Vision Pro app earlier this year with iOS 18.4.
A Discover area within the app showcases carefully chosen suggestions for “new and noteworthy experiences available on Apple Vision Pro,” encompassing categories like 3D movies, Immersive Video, and other spatial applications. The app’s My Vision Pro site offers tools and information specific to device. Features for visitor management are also included in the app.
After iOS 18.4 was released in April, the Vision Pro app was loaded automatically for iPhone users. The iPadOS 26.1 update will bring the same integration to iPads. Later this month or early November is when iPadOS 26.1 is most likely to be launched.
