Apple’s “Awe Dropping” event on September 9 included product introductions as the main event, but the corporation also disclosed the public release date for the latest version of its operating system.
According to a news release from the Silicon Valley tech behemoth, iOS 26 will be available for free on Monday, September 15.
According to Apple, iOS 26 will increase the expressiveness and enjoyment of “apps and system experiences, bringing greater focus to content.”
During the event, the company said that the operating system will include enhanced live translation capabilities and other Apple Intelligence features. With the ability to search and take screenshots on the iPhone, visual intelligence is also improved.
During the keynote address at the Worldwide Developers Conference on June 9, Apple revealed a new name and look for iOS.
The launch of the iPhone 17 range and the new Air model, which takes the place of the Plus as the company’s second-tier phone offering and delivers Apple its thinnest iPhone ever, were the highlights of the “Awe Dropping” event.
The phones will go on sale on September 19 after being pre-ordered on September 12.
