The press conference for Amazon is set for September 30 at 10:00 AM ET. The company’s Devices & Services team leader, Panos Panay, will be present. This strongly suggests that new hardware will be announced by Amazon.
We have a huge clue, but you’re not precisely sure what the company will reveal. Additionally, a composite image of multiple Amazon devices was included in the press invitation. These seem to feature an Echo speaker, a Fire TV of some sort, and a Kindle ereader. These three product categories are among the company’s most important ones.
We haven’t seen a new entry-level Kindle in a long time, but Amazon recently updated the Colorsoft and Scribe. Another possibility is that the business may reveal a new version of the Paperwhite ereader.
With Echo speakers, the situation is comparable. It has been almost five years since the firm remodeled the basic Echo speaker, but it recently updated the Echo Dot, Echo Pop, and Echo Show 8. Perhaps the company will be integrating the Alexa+ digital assistant in some way for its speakers.
Those may also be on the schedule because we haven’t seen a significant surge of new Fire TVs and associated streaming devices in a few years. That portion of the invitation image is a little hazy, though, and it might be promoting a tablet rather than new TVs. We only have a few weeks to find out, anyway.
